Emily Melville brings an intellectual approach to three-dimensional design.

Marrying her knowledge of pattern making and vintage clothing with her interest in science, Emily focuses on the fine details of clothing construction and classic tailoring techniques while taking inspiration from three-dimensional forms in nature and geometry. Her hands-on design technique involves many hours of experimental draping and pattern making to develop sculptural shapes. Simultaneously modern and classic, her clothes are always finished with the finest attention to detail.

Emily received her MFA in fashion design from Academy of Art University in 2008. Her senior collection closed the University's show during Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week in February 2009. In September 2009, her collection was chosen for display in the windows of Neiman Marcus, San Francisco, for the first annual “Fashion’s Night Out.”

Emily Melville currently lives and works in Graton, California, a small town in western Sonoma County, surrounded by vineyards, apple orchards, and redwood trees.
